VistaPrint Tip: Getting Photos Right for Photo Cards
Photo cards can be one way to keep in touch with family and friends throughout the year. If you’re getting ready create your own photo cards, one of the key elements you’ll need to get right is the photograph itself. Here are some tips so you can put the best photo forward on your next photo cards.
There are a few ways you can snag those shots for photo cards. A digital camera is the most convenient way.
If you don’t have a digital camera, but still want to create photo cards, you can still do so. Take pictures with a regular camera and scan the prints (scanners are available for rental at major office copy centers) or take an existing photo and scan the file.
Find out what file type you need. Most online printers accept a range of file formats, but they typically include jpeg, pdf, gif, pic, and png file types. Make sure you save the file in the appropriate format before you send it to the printer.
Check to see what the maximum file size requirements are. The original file you snap with a digital camera may be too large to upload to the printer. File sizes vary, but VistaPrint recommends file sizes for holiday cards be under 14 mb.

VistaPrint Tip: How to Make Business Holiday Cards Personal
Sending business holiday cards can boost your presence and business relationship with clients and customers. But rather than just sending a generic card, how do you make business cards personal? There are a few ways you can make sure your business holiday cards have that extra touch:
1. Make sure you write the address on each envelope by hand. If you’re doing this process in large volumes, consider hiring someone to help or enlisting the help of a staff member. 2. Sign each card with your signature and a brief note. Although pre-printed messages are acceptable, adding a short handwritten note can add immeasurably to the personal touch. 3. Take the time to find out what your client’s holiday practices are. For example, some clients may celebrate Hanukkah instead of Christmas. Creating a more generic message, such as “Happy Holidays”, may be more appropriate.

VistaPrint Tip: Office Etiquette for Greeting Cards
Sending out greeting cards to customers and clients during the holidays can be one way of strengthening a business relationship. However, it’s important to know what proper office etiquette is so you don’t end up inadvertently offending your business contacts. Here are five rules to follow.
1. Double-check to make sure you have the current address and contact information, so you don’t end up sending greeting cards to an old address or worse – to the wrong address completely.
2. Allow plenty of time to make sure the cards arrive in a timely manner and not after the holidays.
3. Use proper titles, such as Mr., Mrs. or Ms., as opposed to an informal reference without titles.
4. Sign all the cards even if you have a preprinted message, in order to add a personal touch.
5. Avoid sending cards to a home address unless you know the contact personally.

VistaPrint Tip: Choose from a Variety of Christmas Greetings
If you’re looking for ideas to make your own Christmas greetings, you’ll find that there are a lot of options for you to choose from. If you’re going to an online printer to make cards, you can pick from one of their custom designed cards and add your own text. But there are many other options to try as well.
Christmas greetings can take the form of holiday postcards, foil-accented cards, photo collage cards, and even holiday letters. The 4x8 postcards tend to be the most affordable option and you can customize them with a photo and text. Try photo collage cards when you want reasonably priced cards that you can personalize with multiple photos. For cards that have that extra touch, foil-accented cards make elegant Christmas greetings.
